Behind The Scenes: A Wedding Walk Through Matlock

This little behind-the-scenes film is a great example of how I like to work on a wedding day. After the wedding breakfast at The Fishpond in Matlock, we headed out with the bride and groom for some relaxed street-style portraits. Nothing too stiff, nothing awkward — just a walk, a bit of fun, and letting the day unfold naturally. And then, completely unplanned, a group of Hells Angels ended up high-fiving the bride and groom, chatting with everyone and even letting them sit on their bikes for photos.

That is exactly the kind of wedding photography and videography I love. Real moments, real personality, and the unexpected bits that make a wedding film feel like it actually belongs to you. I cannot promise a motorcycle gang will appear on your wedding day, but I can promise that if something brilliant happens, I will make the most of it.

A Personal Touch to Your Wedding Film

I’ve been asked a couple of times who wrote the song used in the behind-the-scenes Matlock wedding video I posted recently. Well… it was me! One of the things I offer as part of my full wedding photography and videography packages is a bespoke Wedding Movie Soundtrack — a collection of original songs created to complement your wedding film and tell the story of your day in a much more personal way. By the end of a wedding day, I’ve usually met the family, listened to the speeches, heard the funny stories, seen the emotional moments, and got a real sense of who the couple are. That gives me something far more meaningful to work with than just choosing a generic piece of background music. Instead, I can create songs with the right mood, style and feeling for the couple — whether that is romantic, emotional, cinematic, fun, quirky or full of personality. It means the music behind the wedding video can feel like it actually belongs to them, rather than simply being a track placed underneath the footage.
